Westchester County March 2023 Real Estate Market Update

Market Overview Report

Market Overview Report

Westchester County is known for its affluent communities and proximity to New York City, making it a desirable place to live. The county’s real estate market has been robust in recent years, with steady growth in both sales volume and median sale price.

According to HGAR (Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors) MLS data, year to date listings are down 1% to last year with a 32% decrease in properties going into contract status.  Despite the rise in interest rates, the median sold price in Westchester County is up 5% ($720,750 in 2022 vs. $760,000 YTD).  Numbers like these indicate that we’re still in a strong sellers market.

Despite the pandemic-related economic uncertainty, the Westchester County real estate market has remained strong, with low inventory and high demand leading to bidding wars and quick sales in some areas. However, it’s worth noting that the market can vary by location and property type, so it’s important to consult with a local real estate professional for more specific information.
